Summer time is for smoothies

Summer is a season where people head down the shore, plan weekend getaways, and get their tan on. It’s a time where you grab yourself a beverage, preferably a smoothie drink loaded with vitamins and minerals to keep you hydrated. My favorite smoothies include strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and spinach. I try to go with whatever my body is craving.

What you’ll need:

  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Spinach
  • Banana
  • Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • Protein powder, cinnamon, tumeric (optional)

Directions:

Blend it until smooth and ENJOY!

 

DIY 4th of July snacks

It’s that time of the year for grilling, swimming, and don’t forget the patriotic desserts. Make a red, white, and blue fruit kebab that will show you’re true American pride. This Do It Yourself (DIY) snack is healthy and nutritious and totally easy to make!

What you’ll need:

  • Strawberries, Bananas, Blueberries, or Apples
  • Kebab Sticks
  • Patriotic Plates

DIRECTIONS:

Get a pack of kebab sticks. Slice strawberries into thin pieces or just cut off the tops, you can also use apples which can be both for the red and white flag colors.  Red goes first followed by white aka (bananas or apples) each one can be sliced into semi-small pieces.  Finally, add the blueberries and repeat the pattern.

As you can see above, you can slice more or less depending upon what kind of look you want and which fruits you like the most. 

Berry good green smoothie!

Smoothie, Smoothies rockin’ everywhere. In this day and age, everyone seems to be on the go and needs a quick healthy breakfast. Since, I first started eliminating dairy from my diet not only do I feel less bloated but I actually naturally lost weight. I get my daily servings of supergreens (kale, apples, kale, spirulina, chlorella, alfalfa, wheatgrass, barley leaf, broccoli, and spinch)via Coconut Greens and add a banana for extra potassium with berries that are full of antioxidants. Throw in cinnamon, flax seeds, and any other protein butter: peanut butter, cashew butter, walnut butter, whatever you prefer. Get your morning started right. It’s simple ingredients, non-dairy milk, frozen fruit, banana, coconut greens powder, flax seeds, and a dash of cinnamon and you’re good to go for the whole day. Say goodbye to those fast-food cravings, and hello to a more plant based diet that will have you feeling good and looking good. No joke! What’s sweet and good for you? Pineapples!

Pineapples are sweet and delicious with a ton of health benefits. It’s a great snack that will keep you feeling satisified. They have a high level of vitamin c, magnesium, fiber, and essential vitamins like B6 and B1.

The fruit contains high levels of water to help you stay hydrated all day long. It also helps with digestion and keeps your immune system strong. You could also purchase bromelian pills (extracted from the stem and core) for similar benefits but why wouldn’t you want to bite into this delicious fruit instead?

Did you know pineapples are composed of  various flowers? It’s true. The fruits fuse together to create the core.
